I recently went through the experience of finding a bridal gown. I had no idea what to expect, and I had no idea what type of wedding dress I was looking for. My career at the time had me traveling quite a lot, so I had the opportunity to visit bridal stores in New York, Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Seattle. My plan was to look for wedding gown ideas at bridal stores while I was on the road, and then try to find something similar when I got back to Vancouver - thinking that would be easier with dress fittings and issues at the border.
When it came time to look for my bridal gown in Vancouver, I found the experience to be disappointing. Some of the selections included bridal gowns my friends had tried on three years earlier. Clearly the other cities I had visited were a step ahead when it came to offering a bridal gown selection from top wedding gown designers. I guess in the back of my mind I expected the experience of finding my wedding dress to be fun... something I could do with my mom and my sister...have some quality time over lunch and a day of shopping... a day I would remember.
When I didn't have that experience, the idea for Wed Bridal was born. And since then I have spent months talking to bridal fashion designers and wedding/bridal magazine editors, viewing bridal gown collections, and designing the perfect space to provide brides a private, personal bridal experience.
But, don't take my word for it... visit Wed Bridal and see for yourself. We've set up shop in the heart of Main Street in Vancouver... bring your bridesmaids... and maybe even a little bubbly... make shopping for your wedding gown a day to remember.
